Behind the Practice
What care here actually involves
Care here is collaborative. You describe what is happening and what you need to get back to. We assess how the area moves and how it loads, explain what we find, and agree on a plan you can actually follow. You are told the reasoning behind every technique used on you.
Appointments run 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and the length is chosen by what you came in with rather than by a billing code. A 15-minute visit is a focused adjustment for someone already under care. A 45-minute visit is a different piece of work: time to reassess, adjust, work the soft tissue around the joint, and then load the area under supervision so you leave with something to do between visits.
That last part is the reason for the extra time. A 10-minute adjustment addresses joint movement and nothing else. Longer sessions let us address the joint, the tissue around it and the way you use it in the same appointment, rather than splitting those across three visits or three providers.
Care on Your Terms
This is a cash-pay practice, out-of-network by choice. No insurer decides how long you get.
Conditions We Treat
We see the following presentations. If yours is not listed, call before booking and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right place for it.
Spine and Nerve
- Low back pain
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Headaches and migraines
- Sciatica and nerve pain
- Disc injuries
Upper Limb
- Shoulder pain and rotator cuff
- Elbow pain
- Wrist and hand pain
Lower Limb
- Hip pain
- Knee pain
- Ankle and foot pain
Performance and Function
- Sports Injuries
- Postural Dysfunction
- Mobility Restrictions
- Chronic Pain
Two things are worth saying plainly
First, the same symptom can come from several different sources, so the assessment matters more than the label – knee pain driven by hip mechanics is managed differently from knee pain driven by the joint itself. Second, some presentations need imaging or a referral rather than manual care. Cauda equina signs, progressive neurological loss, suspected fracture and unexplained weight loss with back pain are all reasons to be sent elsewhere, and you will be, promptly, if that is what the examination shows.
Chronic and long-standing complaints are managed over a course of care rather than a single visit, and the plan is reviewed against how you are moving, not against a fixed number of appointments.
Heal & Thrive
Services
These are the tools used across chiropractic services in Ahwatukee. Most appointments combine several of them.
Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic adjustments applied to specific joints to introduce movement where a segment is restricted, with graded mobilization used where a thrust technique is not appropriate.
Soft Tissue Work
Manual pressure combined with active movement, applied to muscle and fascia to change tissue tolerance and local blood flow.
Rehabilitation & Return-to-Sport
A graded loading program built from your assessment and progressed against criteria — range, tolerance, capacity — before you return to your sport.
Mobility Training
End-range and controlled articular work to expand usable range and to train control within that range.
Dry Needling & Electrical Stimulation
A thin filament needle placed into muscle tissue, sometimes with electrical current applied, to produce a local twitch response and stimulate the area.
Spinal Decompression
Mechanical traction applying intermittent axial distraction to the lumbar or cervical spine, unloading the disc space.
Strength Training
Prescribed loaded exercise that builds capacity in the tissue that has been complaining, taught in-session so the technique is right before you take it home.
Cupping
Negative pressure applied to skin and superficial fascia to create a shear force through the tissue layers.
IASTM
Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization: a beveled tool used across muscle and fascia to deliver targeted mechanical input.
Appointment options
Four lengths. Choose by complexity, not by budget.
15 minutes: $65
For established patients on a maintenance or between-visit schedule. A focused adjustment to a region already assessed. No new assessment included.
30 minutes: $105
An adjustment plus one supporting element — soft tissue work, cupping, IASTM or a modality — with a short reassessment of the area.
45 minutes: $150
The standard working session. Reassessment, adjustment, soft tissue work on the surrounding structures, and supervised rehabilitation with exercises to take away.
60 minutes: $190
Initial examinations, multi-region complaints and return-to-sport testing. Full history, movement screen, orthopedic and neurological testing, treatment, and a written plan for the course of care.
Payment is at time of service. We can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurer, though reimbursement is between you and them.
Meet Your Chiropractor
Dr. Borowski
Dr. Connor Borowski, DC, MS, CSCS, runs Lumara Chiropractic as a solo practice. He works from a movement-led model: find what the joint and the surrounding tissue are actually doing, treat that, then load it so the change holds up outside the clinic. He treats one patient at a time, with no assistants and no rooms running in parallel, which is why the appointment lengths are what they are. Read more about his training and approach on the about page.
